The only
time that you should give them food/treat directly is during
training/discipline process or if they do something GOOD that calls for a
reward.
When going
outdoors or traveling with your dogs, bring their food bowl/dish. For long
trips, you could also feed them in the vehicle if they don't get road sick,
feed them slowly in small amounts.

Some dogs/puppies get dizzy on the road and could throw up their
food, so, don't feed them before or while in a moving vehicle. Usually, they
learn to enjoy traveling after a couple of trips.

There was a
time that I was eating my lunch at the kitchen table, and Danda sat beside my
legs looking up. I ignored her, but, she barked and jumped on my knees. This
behavior was not acceptable as we have already trained her not to beg
for food. The culprit, as it turned out, was my mom. She was secretly giving
Danda pieces of food while eating merienda. We had to re-train Danda.
Humans need
to be consistent with rules “AT ALL TIMES” or dogs will get confused.
